The Last Word On "Faggot"

I've really been enjoying Louie, the new show by Louis CK. The scene below is from one of the recent episodes and involves a discussion of the use of the word faggot in stand-up comedy, along with some other gay topics.


It's worth noting that they probably got the etymology of faggot wrong, although a friend of mine told me he saw an interview where Louis CK acknowledged that he knew it might be wrong but said the show being realistic didn't actually mean that everything said on the show would have to be accurate, because sometimes people think and say things are are incorrect.

I've known about the "no homo" thing for a while although I don't hear it that much because I don't pay attention to sports or rap/hip-hop and I hang out with mostly well-educated liberal people who aren't in the habit of saying "no homo". That being said, they called out Jay-Z for doing it in "Run This Town" and I realized I've only ever listened to that song on youtube and they bleep it in the music video and I didn't realize he was doing it.
